I give a lot of (electronic) books away. I give them away to my newsletter subscribers. I give them to friends. In fact, I forgot that I promised my neighbor that I would send her the three hockey novels I hadn’t sent her yet.
A few people insist on buying them and for that I’m grateful.
But I am grateful every time someone buys my book and READS it. Because in today’s world, it’s not about the money, it’s about giving me time. You are giving me and my characters. It’s more precious than anything else you have.
Once in a while I get caught up in my stats, I get caught up in how many books I’ve sold and that can make or break my day. And sometimes I get caught up in how many books I’ve written, which seems to be quite a few and I have just as many planned for the coming years.
But it comes back to THANK YOU to my readers. Whether you loved or hated my books; whether you bought or it was given to you or you stole it. Thank you for your time and emotional investment in my characters. I appreciate everyone of you. I wish I could give you a hug every time I get an email another book was purchased.
